Zahid Khan's political activities have been instrumental in addressing the challenges faced by Swat and promoting peace in the region. In 2004, he played a pivotal role in organizing the Swat National Peace Conference, which brought together national and political leaders to find solutions for the prevailing issues. His efforts to draw attention to the Swat police administration's shortcomings, especially the actions of DPO Qudratullah Marwat, highlighted his commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the people. Furthermore, Zahid Khan proactively communicated the region's situation to General Pervez Musharraf, the President of Pakistan at that time, emphasizing the potential threats and dangers that posed by extremist elements.

In 2007, Zahid Khan founded the Global Peace Council Pakistan, an organization dedicated to promoting peace and harmony in the country. Through this platform, he actively campaigned for action against terrorists affiliated with the Allahu Akbar Jamaat, a banned organization responsible for disturbing the peace in Swat.
